A “Levitical Priest” will take you through the Tabernacle, explaining the symbolism found in the Tabernacle. You can interact with the “innkeeper” who explains why he had to put Mary in the stable to deliver her baby. “Mary”, mother of Jesus, explains why Jesus’ birth occurred just like God planned it. Join “Simon Peter” at the Sea of Galilee, and listen as he tells of his experiences with Jesus. See “Jesus” walk on water. Listen to “John” tell of the Lord’s Supper with Jesus in the Upper Room, and finally see Golgotha and hear “Mary Magdalene” tell of Jesus’ terrible death and His marvelous resurrection at the tomb. The tour is one of the fastest growing daytime attractions in Arkansas and features over 35 reproductions of Old and New Testament outdoor exhibits. The Sacred Arts Center is a world-class gallery that features many original oils on canvas from the early masters to 21st century artists. The Center also houses several historical collections, such as the royal Dresden china piece representing the Last Supper as commissioned by Kaiser Wilhelm I. This year, a collection by acclaimed artist Harry Antis is displayed. The collection includes a series of twelve paintings on “the life, the death, and the purpose of the incredible Galilean man named Jesus.” The Great Passion Play is very excited to display these amazing paintings along with other masterpieces in the Sacred Arts Center. Harry Antis began his career as a wildlife artist and produced over a hundred different limited edition prints of wildlife subjects. His paintings are often compared to those of the master painter Caravaggio for his dramatic treatment of light and color The Bible Museum located in the lower level of the Smith Memorial Chapel contains over 10,000 historical Bibles in 625 languages and dialects, as well as a large collection of parchments and artifacts.
